Disappointed with my RodRig Mini-Flex Carbon – would not buy again

I ordered the RodRig Mini-Flex Carbon, and unfortunately, I regret it now.
The shipping was fast, but there was no tracking number available on the website. After a week with no package, I sent my first message, which was never answered. A few days later I sent a second one – this time Ståle replied with a tracking number, but without saying where to use it. I eventually found it out myself.

After two weeks (!), the package finally arrived in Germany — with a manual for the wrong product inside. On top of that, I had to pay 19% import fees upon delivery, which hadn’t been mentioned anywhere.

And the best part: the mount doesn’t fit any standard setup — it only works with the RodRig teleskopic mount, something that was not mentioned on the website or by the seller.

So in the end, I spent around €90 for something I can’t use. Really disappointing experience.

Thank you for your detailed feedback. I’m sorry to hear that your experience didn’t meet expectations, and I’d like to clarify a few points.
Regarding the tracking number: I understand the frustration and apologize for the delay in my initial reply. The tracking number was provided as soon as it became available, and while I didn’t include a direct link, it’s a standard format usable on most postal tracking sites. I’ll work on improving clarity in future communications.
As for the manual — the Mini-Flex Carbon follows the same principle as the Rodrig Classic, with two aluminum tubes crossing inside the carbon tube. It’s a simple and intuitive design, and this is the first time I’ve received feedback suggesting that additional instructions were needed. That said, I’m happy to provide a visual guide if that would help.
Regarding import fees: these are applied by your local customs office and are unfortunately outside my control. It’s standard practice for international shipments outside the EU, and I regret if this wasn’t clear at the time of purchase.
Finally, about compatibility: the Mini-Flex Carbon is designed to work in tandem with the Rodrig Classic — specifically as a replacement for one of the static rod holders, offering adjustable functionality. It can also be used as a standalone rod holder or camera mount. I’ll review the product page to ensure this is communicated more clearly, and I appreciate you pointing it out.
I truly regret that the product didn’t meet your expectations, and I’m always open to improving both communication and clarity. If there’s anything I can do to help resolve the situation further, I’m here.

Bought the Rodrig mini-flex carbon for my (Kipara Char 245) packraft adventure at Kvennavassdraget, Hardangervidda, Norway this summer. Because of the amount of equipment and a dog onboard as well, it had to be mounted at the stern of the packraft. It worked out perfectly well, and I caught a lot(!) of trout while paddling and also sailing my packraft. If anything, I wish the mount for the fishing rod was a bit better though. The rubber band (that «locks» the rod in the mount) fell of a couple of times, and I could have lost my rod… I have had better mounts than this on my previous setup of canoe and similiar crafts.

Kompakt, lett, enkel i bruk og solid!

Genial gadget! Hadde på forhånd forsøkt å lage en tilsvarende løsning selv - men denne er mer gjennomtenkt, enkel i bruk, kompakt, solid og lett - og prisen var heller ikke avskrekkende. Verdt hver krone.
